1995 Volvo 850 GLT Repair issue!!
Supp people, i bought a 1995 850 GLT with 74,000 miles on it about a month ago for $3500. I took it to the dealership to ge tthe 70k mile service and they found that the shaft is broken (duno what shaft they talkin about but they said it near the axil) and the left shock needs to be replaced. The combined cost for the service and the repairs for the car would be $1800. Do you think its worth the money to get it fixed. There are no machenical problems with the car and it runs smoothly.
Do you really have a choice? You got a REAL good deal at $3500 for a car with 74,000 miles. At $5300 you are still doing quite well if there is nothing else wrong with the car. You might be able to find somebody to do it cheaper, but you can pretty much trust the work if done at a dealership. If somebody else does it and screws up you might end up paying more and they might not guarantee their work. If there is an independent Volvo mechanic anywhere near you, call them and ask for an estimate todo the same work. Prices can really vary from one shop to another.
