Was just wondering what you guys use, also how far can I up the boost before the rods bend or pistons blow a hole ?

What kind of boost do these things run 'stock' ?

Sorry i've never messed with turbos/superchargers or NOS before, i'm a carb and 113 octane gas guy myself, haha

 

Depending on the turbo it has. 12 PSI for the 13G turbo is about max. 15G turbo about 15 PSI.
The internals are good till about 300 HP then you will start blowing things.
I would get a good motor in there and find a used or get a Chipped computer and do a few other things like K&N filter and MBC and it will surprise you on how it runs.

Both of mine are running about 12PSI boost. Taking off from a dead stop in a straight line at about 25MPH it hits hard boost and breaks the tires loose.

 

How do I tell what kind of turbo I have ... vin number is 57 .. so def a 2.3l turbo ...

It doesn't say R on the back and it's definitly not a t5-r (will be turning into one soon, haha)

I want a 'clean' looking sleeper.

 

I believe thats the 13G turbo.
You should be able to find a 15G pretty easy.

 

is the 15g turbo what came in the t5-R ?

I have worked on these cars for a long time but never really got into modding them till lately.
Was modding my Mustang till this point.

I found some really clean looking 850's on cardomain, just reading up on what they did to theirs....

main thing i've noticed that makes a huge difference externally is projector headlights and blacked out grill ...

changes the look of it so much.

it's hard to track down where they got those projector headlights from ...

 

Im just going with a different style I can't afford the projectors.
Im getting the clear glass with the blacked out backround soon. But I also have HID's to install in them.
I already have the blacked out grill yes it makes a major change in the looks of it.

 

The 'only' thing that bothers me , is it's front wheel drive. That is something that will bother me forever ... althought not as much because it's an automatic and I won't feel the pull as much....

It seems cool that the front tires break traction alot, but that's only because less than half of the vehicle's weight is on the front , especially when it's forward momentum, it's all thrown towards the back....

I guess it's something i'll have to get used to huh, cause I love the look of it, and can't beat the comfort. And so far i've only sat in the thing while it's in my driveway with no battery, doors or motor ...

 

I really think you will be surprised and enjoy driving it when you get it done.

These look so nice and I have seen many cars at Cardomain with them. I have also seen one page there where the the owner shows how he converted them to H.I.D.'s with a step by step visual how to.

Now that you mention it, I'm going to look for it again and and when I find it I'll post the link as it is a very good visual.
