Default 1995 Volvo 850 won't start

95 850 will not start. The ignition system seems to be OK as I have spark at the plugs. However, when I try to pull the codes from the diagnostic unit A by inserting the test lead into socket 6 there are not codes. The book I have says there should be a 111 code of all is well. When I try to get the fuel system codes using A2 I get 232 which is 'Long term fuel mixture too weak at idle. Any suggestions other that tow it to a Volvo dealer?

If you have spark, most likely it could be:

- Retiring fuel pump.
- Retiring fuel pump relay.
- Retiring ECT sensor.
- Retiring MAF sensor (this one is more noted for poor idling).
- etc...

See attached as well & wait for others replies.

Most (if not all) 95's have an OBDII port in the center console. If you have a code reader you could plug it in an try to retrieve codes from there as well. I do both on ours just to be sure I get them all when they pop up
