Default 205 vs 215

I just realized I have 205 tires on the back and 215 on the front of my 97 850 r wagon. Which is correct? Does it matter? Should I swap out one of the two sets?

Open your gas door and see. The tire specs will be in there.

205/45R17 or 205/50R16 are the 2 factory sizes for the 1997 R. The former was standard and the latter a no cost option. Rs never had staggered tires like yours from the factory. They are supposed to be the same at all 4 corners.
