i have a 1994 850 wagon and am wondering if my radio qualifies for the outboard 6 cd changer. my radio does have the cd control button on it's face.

If it has a CD button then one can be added.

Hi, isn´t it better to get rid of the original radio, and install a single DIN MP3 player with iPod / SD / USB support? It will probably cost you about the same and you will have much better options. There are some head units that accept SD flash memory cards, which are costing about 20 USD for 2GB storage . That will allow you to put more or less 2000 minutes of audio on a single card.

On top of that you will gain the extra DIN on the front. You can use that space for something useful like and oil pressure indicator, voltimeter and boost gauge.

Regards

You could certainly go that route and maybe even get something more powerful to boot. The iPod-type solution is definitely very tempting. Personally, I like the OEM look of the double-DIN unit and I was able to pick up a used changer off eBay for really cheap.

By the way folks - upgraded my Volvo with a Nav. system and i'm looking to sell the 6-disc changer that it had - it's a Pioneer 6-disc, works like a dream, with the cable, and the adapter to connect it to the Volvo headunit (I had it hooked up to the SC-710 headunit in my '95 850 Wagon).

$100 for it all sound reasonable?

Shipping would probably be $15.

Are there any double din aftermarket units that will fit the 850 dash?
Thanks - David.

any double din aftermarket head unit should fit. Just yesterday I went to a local shop to look at the Pioneer AVIC D3 which has NAV included!
