Default 850 Brake Issues

I have successfully changed the brakes on 850’s a dozen times, so I’m confident that my technique is correct. But this last time, I have encountered something odd and I’m hoping someone can help me solve the problem.

I replaced the front rotors, front pads, rear pads, and flushed the system replacing the brake fluid. I cleaned all of the parts and used brake lube on the back of the new pads. I used a brake bleeding tool that pushes the fluid through the reservoir insuring that no air is added to the system. (Just like all of the times in the past.)

Now the Front brakes terribly drag, even after driving 50+ miles. I have looked at the calipers and they don’t appear to be opening up enough after the brake pedal has been released. (The rear brakes are working properly.)

I also changed both the left and right drive axles during this maintenance (due to torn CV boots).

Any ideas?

Thanks!

two things possibly.

1) bad front hardware? (pads not sliding through correctly)
2) the pads that you bought this time are SLIGHTLY over sized and fit to tight and wont slide (most likely this one, happend to me several times)

pistons in front calipers starting to sieze up? If so time to rebuild them...

you didn't swap anything left/right; did you?

Thank you all for the suggestions! I did finally figure out what was causing the brake noise. I had accidentally damaged / bent the shroud behind the rotor when I was separating the ball joint to change the drive shaft. The shroud was touching the rotor and making all of the noise.

Thanks again for helping me figure this one out!
