Default 850 control arm labor time

hey everyone,
I need to do some work on my 1995 850 non-turbo. FL control arm, PVC valve replacement, and LR shock. does anyone have an idea how long each of these should take to replace... by a skilled mechanic. I am going to a new guy and just want to make sure he is on the up and up ( I'd trust your opinion before a mechanics). Any places to check for reference online?

thanks in advance.

Skilled and experienced with Volvo 850s are 2 different things. If the mechanic is both, I would say around 2 hours labor. Control arm is 3 fasteners after the wheel is off. Rear shock is two fasteners after wheel is off. PCV (I think that's what you mean) should be entire system (canister, flame trap, and lines) requires intake manifold removal, but nothing complicated about this repair. Parts should be about $200-250.

An experienced Volvo mechanic knows where the fasteners are and what size wrenches/sockets to use and will fly through this job.

If he knows what he is doing and has worked on volvos in the past, should not take him more then 2 - 3 hours. Not to say he won't try to bill you for more then that.
