Default timing belt labor question

Hello everyone new to owning a Volvo. just bought a 04 s40 t5 4.5 with 85000 miles. I have all maintenance records from the first owner and it has not had the timing belt changed.

I have been turning wrenches for over 20 years on my personal cars and my 2 mustangs I drag race.

However after doing some searching here it seems the timing belt can be a pain in the a$$. I called a reputable local shop and he quoted me 259.00 for parts and labor. thats just the belt not new tensioner though.

is it advised to do the whole belt kit or is just changing the belt at 85000 miles sufficient.

the price seems good for the job.

any thoughts or opinions appreciated.

thanks,

John

Holy smokes dude. You look back the same day and get upset there is no replay? Wow.
That is super cheap, even without the tensioner.
Most would recommend doing everything while you're in that deep. have them inspect the water pump too just in case. But I would definitely do the tensioner.
