RE: 850 fuel consumption figures
Of course it is a BMW Hartge H-3. I have owned one that has one of five engines made by BMW. The reciprocating mass is all titanium. I have had a total frame off restoration...........it took over two years....................much of the auto was shipped back to Europe to be rebuilt. My engine is the only one that was released to the U.S. I use a Shrick 316 cam with valves larger than in a Corvette. The engine is fed via Webber 45 DCOE's. There is a Hartge/Getrag transmission with the layshaft in tapered roller bearings. Machined brass syncros with a bronze shifting fork. The rear axle is 80% locked. I have an Hartge cover that pumps the oil through a "radiator" to cool. The brakes are a work of art..............Hartge grouppe II with adjustable bias. The little auto is awsome on both top end and acceleration....................and all of this was 1970's technology!!! send me an email address and I will send you a couple of photos.
