instantaneous fuel consumption
Hi,
I recently purchased a 2005 S40 T5 AWD and I'd just like to ask if it's normal to get high readings for instantaneous fuel consumption when the car accelerates from a full stop. Sometimes it displays 99.9.
Thanks.

Arthur Dentwouldconsider that a low reading from the perspective of how much fuel is consumed to get 99.9 mpg.
But I would guess the rate of consumption, as computed according to the algorythmsdesigned to distill that information, changes too rapidly for the display to show the computed mpg. Once the change in speed is reducednigh unto0, the computer can get a fix and display it normally. Actually it's sooner than that, but I never use that reading anyway. It's depresing. I like the average. 30+, full time : )
