Default 850 glt 0-60 fail/"stuttering"

I have a 1997 volvo 850 glt turbo,

**also excuse me for posting this also in the 850 ssection, im new here**

First of all the prescribed 0-60 time is 7.8 (correct me if i'm wrong),
I took it out last night to test that, it did it in mid 12's.
?? i don't have any idea.
the only work on the car was a rebuilt turbo, exhaust/Catalytic converter and an alternator.

**maybe related whenever i step up on it goes a little bit then "stutters" (hammers-hammering, not sure on my "lingo" lol)

Please help i love this car! thanks

1st of all, I assume you have a GLT, Low Pressure Turbo??? 2nd, what selection do you have the preformance selector dialed into? W S E? The S (sport) mode will give you the fastest time.

When was your last tune up? Do you have any vacuum leaks? When was the PCV last replaced?

Lets go from there.

I had it in sport mode, and tried it in e and w to,barely any difference.
When we did that turbo we talked about replacing the PCV but mechanic/me said we didn't need it?(we were on a budget)Idk how important it is obviously?

Vacuum leeks? I'm assuming by that you me a leak in all the turbo/intake/exhaust all that?

For a tune up, all's we have ever done is spark plugs, not ignition wires, or fuel injectors or anything, and other then that my front drivers side tire is pretty bad.

and also low pressure turbo? I'm not sure?

This is pretty sad, I should know this stuff at the least about my car! lol

I bought the car for a everyday driver, not knowing what it was! But i then realized the mechanical coolness of it =) 5cylinder turbo! strange but sweet.

I'd be looking at new wire, cap and rotor, and plugs, and possibly coil... air filter, oil change (mann filter and mobil 1) and fuel filter...

basically a full State 0,

but that's just me...

FCPGroton.com

Probably the best prices around for any parts you need. that are not performance based.
(my personal favorite since i dont have to have anything shipped, living right down the road)

Also try IPDUSA.com

Lots of nice performance stuff, and some things are cheaper for maintainence stuff.

You have a lot of vacuum lines under the hood. Mainly the PCV system.

You probably have a LPT. If it were high, you would have T-5 on the trunk lid.

It may be possible that you have a bad ECU or MAF. You should have a noticable difference in preformance between the W-S-E modes.

You should probably start with the "small stuff" before you tear into price sensors and your ecu.

Vac lines... thats some good advice right there...
