Default 850 t5 parts interchangable with v70 t5?

Hello there, I was curious if the engine/transmission from a 1998 v70 t5 would be interchangeable with a 1994 850 t5
the reason why i am asking is that i have the opportunity to purchase a 94 t5 with over 160,xxx miles on it (odometer is frozen) but it has the check engine light on, abs light and when I started it the revs climbed up to 3000 and didnt come down until I turned it off for a few minutes. that being said it still had a lot of power and it shifted fine when I took it for a drive. I also have access to a 98 t5 with a 108,xxx miles that was in a 25mph front collision so the front clip is smashed and airbags are deployed. I can get both of these vehicles for $1400 possibly cheaper. My question is are the parts interchangeable between the two and if they are would I just be better off looking for a vehicle that is in good working order.
any information or opinions would be great!
Thanks

Welcome to the site. No, they are pretty different cars. The motor is the same but the tranny is different.
