Greetings, I'm replacing my radiator in my 1996 850 Turbo Wagon and I figure I will drain the transmission from the 24 mm bolt while I'm down there anyway and the Trans fluid system is already open. Since I'm draining at the Trans and replacing the radiator at the same time will that drain all 8 qts ? I'm wondering how much new fluid to put in before test driving and checking. I did not accurately capture all the lost fluid to measure. Thanks for any advice.

 

Unless you remove the torque converter and drain it, you'll only get as much as 4 qts. I grabbed a gallon bottle of fluid and didn't use all of it, only a little over 3 qts in my case. You can't ever get all of the fluid without pulling the transmission out.
