850 turbo wont start =[
hey guys so last year i started driving a family members old volvo 850 turbo , it has 117k miles and after i tightened some hoses it ran GREAT for a while, then it sat for a couple months of the winter, and now currently will not start.
Before it sat for a few months upon startup the service engine light would come on momentarily and then turn off after about 20 seconds.
COdes from the computer are the TPS(throttle position sensor), i replaced the sensor with no improvement
The car cranks beautifully but just doesnt turn over and start
fuel pump and relay both click on when key is in pos 2
fuel rail spits out fuel from the nipple when depressed.
i was thinking to replace the cam position sensor but being that its a fairly expensive sensor i want to see if the forums have any other opinions as to common issues with this model car..
so if anyone thinks they have helpful advice itd be appreciated

Service engine soon light = need to have oil changed if done by the "light".
Nothing that affects starting.
Cranking and turning over are the same thing.
What year 850 is it and did you clear the codes and try to read them again since you've done the TPS ??
Have you checked for spark yet ?? If not, that's the number one thing to do before replacing any parts.
Have you checked the cap and rotor ??
You might not have any spark or you might have a bad coil wire shorting out due to it's insulation breaking down, cracking.
Post what you find.

Pull a plug after you try to start the car. If the plug is wet with fuel, your CPS is likely good. If it's bad, it will cut fuel and spark.
Like Prince said, check for spark.
If you have spark you need to check compression. These cars are know for burning valves, especially after sitting off and on.
Oh, have you check timing? Is the belt broken?
