I have recently been having problems with a 1994 850 wagon I bought in 2002. While driving, all of a sudden all the lights on the dashboard go on and the engine stops. The wheel is only able to turn slightly, and if I have wipers or the radio on, they usually go off too. I always pull over and try starting back up; sometimes it works right away, and other times I'm forced to wait a few minutes before the car will finally start up. I'll try to give as much info as I can to see if anyone can offer any ideas or suggestions. It seems to me that every time this happens, the car has been turned on and off several times that day, say at least 3. I've also noticed that almost every time it's happened, the radio/cassette player has been on (I don't use it that much so I think that's significant). The first time this happened seemed to be a one-time incident because it didn't happen again for about a month later. Sometimes I can go a month without it happening, and sometimes it will happen several times in one week. I would guess it has happened 10 times since the first instance. I've brought it to 3 places to try to have it fixed: the first 2 insisted nothing was wrong, and the third said they fixed it... not so true. I don't know what else to do. Can anyone offer any suggestions as to what may be causing my car to stall?

 

It may be the ignition switch but wait for tech he will tell you
what may be wrong and he's always right ..

 

It is possible it is the ignition switch.Try wiggling the key some with it running and see what it does.
Also check all the connections really good at the battery. The small clump of wires on the + cable feed everything inside. Make sure they are clean and tight.
I had one I was working on the other day that was a customers. It left me stranded on the side of the road with the wires slightly loose.
