I have had the seats folded down and when I go to put them up the latch does not engage. I can pull them right back down again without pushing the lever. With the seat halfway down, I can close the latching mechanism and release it but when I go to put the seat back it doesn't seem to catch/latch. Any ideas?

 

So it DOES latch, just not fully. It can be moved back and forth but DOES need the lever pressed to be released. Has a metal on metal sound when you go to put it in the upright position.
