Default 850 wiring harness-- sources?

I am in a bit of a quandary with my 1996 Volvo 850 MT with NA engine.
I recently stripped a Volvo 850 T5 and got many good parts since the vehicle was supposed to be junked for chassis damage beyond repair.
In the course of things, I got a Volvo radio with CD player in truck.
This is the good news. Now the bad news.
When I removed the non-Volvo radio from my 96 to replace itwith the Volvo radio, I discovered that the prior owner had butchered the wiring harness at the radio.
I need to find another chunk of harness so that I can re-connect a Volvo radio to the car.
By any chance, did the 850 wiring harnesses come in sections, where I might be able to find something that fits and adapt it to the wiring harness in my car?
Any suggestions welcome. I also think that the current radio is the cause of a short that the car has.
Thanks!

Take a trip to a local wrecker and bring along some wire cutters.
