My '96 850 w/a 2.4 is acting up. It won't run. It wouldn't start at Walmart, and it left the DW stranded.

Earlier, I located a local mechanic. He hooked up the code reader and it had 2 codes, Air INjection system and PO115 Coolant Temp Sensor.

We found that the Air system was allowing moisture, from the exhaust to get in to the air filter. We cleaned the MAF unit and it seemed to run better. But, when the car was dead today, I disconnected it and it did not start. The mech thought that if I did that it would make it start, if that was the cause.

He didn't find anything else wrong w/it. I drove it, and it seemed fine. It was released back to the DW and then the Walmart deal happened.

Tonight, I go to the car and it started it up immediately. I used my Reader and it had the Air code...and after a bit the Temp came on. I was watching the Live Scan on the reader...it showed 12-18 deg F when it was about 50 deg out....then it went to 148, when the temp needle was horozontal, then back to 15. It was running when I reset the codes, it died and then it wouldn't restart.

I re-set the codes, while it was running and it died immediately. It wont re-start. At the mech's, it did sorta the same thing, when re-setting the codes, it died for a second, and then ran fine, w/o needing to be restarted.

The mech also said that if faulty, the Cam Position Sensor will cause problems, and that it won't throw a code. He said that he had a sensor that I could try.

Engine coolant sensor needs to be replaced.
