Hey guys, driver door lock no longer locks or unlocks the car at all after the ice storm we had in NY this past Thursday. Passenger door lock works fine. Cause and remedy? Thanks!

 

Likely a broken latch. You should pull it and see.

Key and remote?

 

Dont have a remote, just a key. Mechanics at my work (volvo dealership) said probably needs a new lock assembly, or that the microswitches went bad?

 

How about from the inside? Can you sit in the seat and push the lock handle down? Will it lock then? How about the dash switch?

 

Dash button functions as it should, passenger door lock also functions as it should, locks and unlocks itself and all 4 doors. Driver door lock no longer functions with key, for about a day it would lock all the doors but not unlock them, now it just doesn't do anything when I turn the key.
