93 sunroof question!?!?
I just bought a used 850 with a few issues I have just found out about (more questions to come I am sure)The sunroofseems to not stop in the "closed position when in transition from the "vent" position to the fully retrackedposition inside the body. Is there a switch that needs to be adjusted or replaced so I will know that it is closed (sealed)? The headliner is shot and I think the sunroof hasnot been closed properlysince itis not clear at what pointthat thesunroof isclosed (sealed). Any oone have this problem? Any suggestions?

RE: 93 sunroof question!?!?
Hi Greg,
Greetings from Yokohama, Japan.
The sunroof on 850's are noted for failing, especially at the track. Try visually inspecting the tracks for any damage/foreign debris. There is a plastic portion on the scissors mechanism that seems to erode after a while.
The inspection is much easier with the glass removed. Try the following URL to see if it's something you can attack. For this procedure (and for many other procedures), you need a set of Torx bits.

Also, the headliner on Swedish cars are noted for dangling after a few years. I took mine off, hand-fabricated some missing hardware (springs that hold the shade in place) and sprayed a can of Loc-tite headline adhesive. Don't buy a cheap adhesives, they're guaranteednot to work[8D].
I hope this helps.
