Default 94 850 GLT turbo

I have 1995 855 GLT Auto sitting in my back yard with blown head gasket. Car is in good condition and interior is in decent condition. My question is it worth replacing the head gasket or should I turn it into a parts car. Also, if do replace the head gasket. Since I have the top end of the motor all torn apart, what mods should I do to get a little more power.

first you need to decide what the value of the car is in parts, and if running. If its reasonable mileage and good shape, it should be worth 1000-1500. To fix the head gasket, you will need a gasket kit ($100 or so) and probably will need to have the head checked for flatness at a machine shop. The 94 GLTs have the naturally aspirated engine - not a whole lot can be done to improve performance. A better choice would be to fix as is or find a turbo model (I have a 95 850 Turbo wagon here in CT that needs PCV work which I'm about to post up in the classifieds for sale if interested)
