94 850 passangers side rear making noise
Hi guys when i go around curves or slight right turns i have this humming noise that comes up. it just started out of nowhere last night its not at high speeds only when going around slight right curves. When i press the brake it will get louder or sometimes stop. It has brand new rotors and pads all the way around. What can it be.
It cant be, noise is not constant it does not get louder on the freeway, it happens at random times when turning right or slight right like around windy roads. Here is a video i posted on youtube turn up the speakers and listen. Now i did notice today the ebrake is not working and sometiems when im siting in neutral the car wont roll back when on slight hill and when i accelerate to go forward it will go and then just kinda stop andnot roll. When i start driving and then let it roll it will go freely.
After hearing that, you are right it can't be a wheel bearing
and I wouldn't waste my time checking it out. It would be best to bring it to the dealer and have someone check it over for you.

The 94 850 I bought recently had a really bad wheel bearing up front. Bad enough that it had about an inch of play top to bottom AND front to back. While it didn't sound exactly like yours in that it was continuous, but the sound would get MUCH worse when the weight of the car shifted (not to mention clunking that I at first thought was a bad ball joint or strut bearing), as in turns and stops.
Either way, I don't think it could hurt to jack up the back of the car and try and wiggle the wheels a little to check for bearing play. At least that way you'll know for sure whether it's the bearings or not, and it'll only cost you a bit of your time. If you're ambitious, you could even check for other components that might be rubbing and causing the noise while you've got the car up.

+1 on that, but what do I know.
Here's some instructions from a manufacturer (Timken).

thanks for all the info, so i jacked up the car no play in the wheel at all in any direction. Now when i spin the wheel it does not spin freely. there is some sort of drag, now i know its not the brake pads because i just changed them and this just happend few days ago. i changed the brakes 2 months ago. Another thing like i stated in my post the e brake does not work. When i pull it it nothing. Is there a way to release the e brake from the rear to release the pressure on the back wheel i think it has something to do with that.
To make sure the parking brake isn't dragging you pretty much have to take the rotor off and get a grip on the cable and pull.
When you did the brakes did you install a new rotor or have the rotor surfaced ??
Did you inspect the brake cables at that point ??

the rotors were oem so not surfaced and cables at that time where good. Just now i pull the brake up and down and it kinda of released now there is alot more free play then there was before dont have time to take the rotor off now as im at work, is there anyplace i can spray wd40 in the mean time.
I've never run a wheel bearing to the point where you could check it and find anything. They always start making that noise a long time before they ever get loose.
The noise starts when you get one little fretted spot, but I would have to think everybody already knows about that.
