Just noticed this. Sounds like its rubbing on rubber when it goes up and down. Can I handle this with some regular DW-40 or is there something special I need to do? Still goes up and down fine, but the noise is crazy sounding.

Don't use WD40. I use a light coat of white lithium grease, and robert213 uses silicone spray. WD40 will make it worse in the long run.
