Did you make sure it is a clean connection? A dirty connection could be causing this.

Well the tranny I installed has the old wire on it, I removed it and installed mine when I did the swap. However I did not clean it. Also the bell housing seems to be kinda corroded. It's hard to get the bolt off to.

Ok, so I removed the transmission ground, wire brushed the tranny, bolt and wire connector. Put it all back together, and still just cranks.

I know the newer cars it is more critical that the bellhousing needs to be clean when installing it.
The jumping tach is what leads me to a bad ground somewhere.

Ok, I'll have to take a look. Any idea what color they are or how many are there?

Are the grounds connected to the starter? Or are they just in that general area? I'm going to try to take a look after work today. I really hope to get this thing running soon.

Well now the gray relay behind the radiator is buzzing non stop. And I'm getting spark now but not fuel. I checked the coil and spark is good. I checked cylinder 5 and spark is good. However when I was checking the coil and I cranked the engine, it sparked but when I stopped it continues to spark. Because it thinks it's running? Or what's the deal? Also the tach was up at 2 again. Even though I wasn't cranking. Is my car posessed?

Did you happen to swap any wires to the gray relay by accident?

Not to my knowledge. But I guess it's possible. A friend of mine swapped the relay a few weeks ago. It buzzed right after the swap to. And wasn't getting fuel. Replace the relay and it started getting gas again. What would the correct order of the wires be?

I swapped out the cars ecu, just because it was available and free. No change. What is the gray relay for? And what makes a relay buzz and stay on?

The gray relay is the injector relay. Here is a screen shot of the wiring for it. The gray relay is 2/32

Default Same issue need help

Hey everyone, new to the forum and looking for a little advice. I drive a 94 turbo wagon that I bought recently and had the tranny go out. So I swapped the tranny, and start the car up and let it idle, for a few minutes and took it for a test drive. Tranny works as it should. However after a few minutes of driving it seems to have trouble holding an idle. ( will stall if not on gas. Rpms will continue to drop till it dies) so we bring it back into the shop and it starts back up, idles rough then dies. Now it just won't start at all. I've checked all fuel pump relays and have switched the crank and Cam position sensors. Checked for spark and that seems fine, and it's getting fuel as well. I am begining to think that somthing rattled loose and got worse as i drove the car. I can honestly say the car drove for 45 minutes after the swap. The next day it started up, idled, then died and has not started since. I have no clue what else to check. I really like the car. I just wish I could get it started! Go figure you fix the transmission and the engine stopps working. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
My name is Chris and I know this thread is old , but I am having the same exact issue with the same exact car ..
what was your final resolution to the problems you were having?
thanks and hope to hear from you.
