94 service light--how to turn off
Hey
I searched for this but could only find info on how to turn late year '95's off.
I couldn't find any neat little rubber access plug on my speedo cluster.
I have a 1994 with the light on. I would like to turn it off after I change the oil in a couple of weeks. (I changed the oil right after I bought it, so the light came on a little before it was needed). Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Bye the washer fluid fill there should be your diag plug.Use A7 stick the wire in A7 and press the button the number of times then wait for it to light up then do the same 3 more times to reset it.It is either 4-1-5-1 or 5-1-4-1 I believe it is 4-1-5-1 try that and let me know.

Reset-procedure servicelight: switch ignition on, open the diagnostic-socket in the motorcompartment, put the plug in opening 7, press the small button 4 times, wait untill the led lights up steady, press the button once and wait for the led to glow steady, now press the button 5 times and again wait for the led to show a steady glow, then press the button one more time and wait for the led to flash rapidly. Now the servicelight on the dash should be out. It will light up again after 15.000 km. This works only on pre 1996 models.
I got this from a Volvo 850 enthusiast's website, it has some other interesting tidbits as well, I DIDN'T try it yet, since I am still researching my 94 volvo 850 my dad just gave me. HERE IS THE WEBSITE:

Actually, I read on www.volvospeed.com that some Volvo 850 have a reset service light button on the instrument panel, behind a rubber grommet (left center). I removed the grommet and pushed in the button. IT WORKED!!!

The 850 to pull codes and clear the Check Engine light follow the link.
http://www.troublecodes.net/Volvo/
The V70 you will need an OBDII scanner or bring it to someone that has one.
Some Auto parts stores will pull codes and clear them as well.

You will need a service light reset tool for the V-70.
If you do a search online you can find one pretty cheap.I will put a link in here this one is pretty expensive. But you will know what one looks like.

As far as helping.I have the knowledge and like to share.I know the feeling on not having alot of money and I like to help others save money.
We grew up on the very low side of money.I started working on cars at age 14 and kept going ever since.
If I had help like this when I was younger I would have a lot more knowledge.

It should clear unless you have a permanant fault in the evap valve or something like that.My book says a problem with the evap. system. The evap valve is located on the cooling fan. There is a hose that goes from the intake to the valve then the other hose runs under the car.Check the hose that runs under the car for holes or make sure it is not cut or flattened.
