Default 94 Volvo 850 digital display won't work

I had some issues with a loose battery connection on the negative terminal. Sometimes the car wouldn't start. I would wiggle the connection and it would start. The last time this happened the digital display went out. I have tried to tighten the battery connection, didn't help. I checked the fuses, all were fine. I even disconnected and reconnected the battery and still nothing. I am at a loss here. Does anyone know what might have gone wrong and how I can fix it? Thank you

I had the same thing happen - but I wound up swapping the cluster since I had a spare from fixing the speedo gear. When you disco'd the battery, how long did you wait? Try waiting about 30 min or more before reconnecting and see if anything changes (that should be long enough for a computer to reset). If not, you may need to either swap out the cluster or replace the unit - it screws on to the cluster and connects through its own ribbon cable. You can even try disconnecting the cluster and reconnecting as well...
