hi guys im new on here and i just recently picked up a 94 volvo 850 sedan. the problem i am having with the car is that the drivers seat will not tilt back. every other way the seat will move it just wont recline back anymore. everything was working fine until saturday when i unplugged the seat and removed it becasue i put in new carpet. when i plugged everything back in i couldnt get the seat back to recline it will go forward though but i didnt want to move it too much or else it would be very uncomfortable to drive. any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

Does it make any noise when trying to move it back.

 

My 2.3l turbo eng blew and I bought a 1998 2.3 non turbo eng what would I expect in the swap? should I or can I swap the turbo to the new bloc or just leave it as it is? if I swapped everything over what would I need and expect in the swap?

yes it works every way but just the back wont recline

 

But when it will not recline can you hear the motor run?

Tech wants to know if you hear a motor sound when you try to recline the seat. If you do your in good shape and can shorten the cable. If not, you have an electrical issue with either the seat switch or the seat switch (since the motor runs one way already)
