Default 94 wagon - changing rear shocks

Has anyone done them? Assuming no lift, only a floor jack and stands, how long does it take? Anything I need to look out for?

With air tools it's a piece of cake; hardest part will getting the old ones off the bottom mount (use penetrating oil of some sort). Have new top mounts ready in case you need them.

Again, w/air tools maybe 10 minutes a side (or faster) but w/o it could be a bit more fun..

By far the easiest shock change you will ever do. While your in there take a look at the upper shock mounts. Make sure they have not started separating. Here is an example of when they break.

I have new shock mounts and had planned on putting them on with the new shocks. Thanks for heads up though!

Default rear shocks caution

ibi- really an easy job, I changed a set once in my office parking lot at lunch time. without even jacking the car up. BUT here is the kicker- if you change the shock mounts, the mounting bolts might be frozen in there. One side of mine came out OK, the other side both studs broke. And I went slow slow slow. Out, in. Out a little bit more, in. Out, in. Out...snap! ! Might want to have your drill ready. Dave
