95 850 ABS and Tracs light on.
I bought this 95 850 about 6 months ago and the ABS and TRACs light were on. I knew from watching Roberts videos and reading thru the forums it was rare for the 95s as they used a different ABS computer then later years. I found the problem, the passenger front ABS wires were broken off and it looks like someone attempted to tape them back on.
My questions are how hard is it to replace the entire wire rather then just try to bandage the problem?
There are several 96 and later 850s in my local JY, would those work on the 95?
Should i also replace the sensor?
I live near Chicago and we finally have some "nice" weather so Id like to get this taken care of.
This is my daily driver so any help would be great.

So to answer my own question.....its a pain in the ***. From the passenger side you have to force the wire from the 2 mounts (they slide in tight) then feed it up into the engine bay by the belts where it's clipped in place with some brackets. Now the fun part. You then need to remove the cowl to access the bundles of wire using a knife to cut the tape every few inches. Then unbolt the fuze box and try to lift it up some to find the wires that are soldered together and cut them there. At that point the whole with should just pull right out. I would just splice the wire in place but the connector has 3 wires going in and only 2 at the end so somewhere 2wires join up. Tomorrow I'll run the new wire and see how it goes.

I literally just fixed my ABS/Tracs light. It was the same as you, one of my wires was snapped right behind the connector.
Like I said, mine was right behind the connector, so I just cut it and got a used connector and crimped the wires together. I used a shielded connector, but I was going to put heat-shrink on it to seal out everything anyways. I ended up not because I forgot to put the heat-shrink on before I crimped , so I just put RTV sealant around it.
Took it for a drive and about 1 minute of the car on, both lights went off!!
Sadly, now I have to deal with both my front calipers being stuck lol.

So I opted to bandage it and splice the wires together near the connector. I was incorrect about it being 3 wires. Well, long story short my lights are now off, but next time it might be easier to run the wire ally he way up rather then fight with the rubber enclosed wires. Every time I stripped off some the inner wires came out of, and the looked like they'd seen better days.
