Hi All,

I'm new here and I'm hoping someone can help. My Volvo 850 GLT is acting very strange. I get in the car close the door put my foot on the brake and the doors lock. Turn the key car wont start. Open the door all doors unlock I don't touch the brake close the door (or not) turn the key all the doors lock and it won't start.

Thinking this is a problem with the alarm I get out of the car lock the door with the key , unlock the door with the key same thing happens.

I tried unlocking the car in the car with the remote same thing happens I put my foot on the brake the doors lock and car wont start, If I dont put my foot on the brake turn the key the doors lock and it wont start. Battery is fine all lights are bright etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Check all battery connections and the main ground wire for the car. I have seen this before and an extra ground wire was added and that fixed the problem.

 

I'll check thanks...if not that whats the next step?

Im not really sure the couple I have seen that do that the ground wire has fixed them.

 

Sure does sound like a grounding issue to me too. I have seen bad grounds cause REALLY weird things over the years
