'95 850 tranny issues--shifting problems
When my '95 850 turbo wagon has been running awhile and the engine is hot, after I come to a complete stop and then accelerate, it acts as if it is in third or fourth gear. The engine revs, but I don't speed up until I hit the throttle hard enough. Then, it shifts into the proper gear. It will be fine for the rest of the day.
Any help is appreciated.

Hi,
Sorry about the problem.
Is the "Arrow" on the instrument panel flashing? I assume not, as you did not mention of it.
I would check the transmission fluid level & condition. The fluid should be clear red and should not have burnt smell or discolouration. If you find either, it's time to flush the transmission.
These threads may help:

Also, try retrieving codes from the transmission ECU:

I hope this gets you started.

So sorry it has taken a while toget back on here. Thank you for the advice, I'll check the fluid and most likely have it flushed anyway then go from there. I do have a ODBII reader so I'll check the tranny codes too. Thanks again and I'll post any new data.

Hello Good product,
There's nothing to be sorry about, but thanks.
Shifting problem is not only inconvenient but is also dangerous, so I hope the problem gets resolved asap. In case if the transmission goes out of control while you're driving, just hit the shifter into "N"; you do not need to press the shifter button between "D" and "N".
I wish you the best,
JPN
