95 turbo, no +12 @ coil???

Default 95 turbo, no +12 @ coil???

hello all first post, first volvo, a 95 850 turbo. picked it up for 600$.. nice body, it needed a cv, the drivers seat unreclined and the glove box opened... good deal!!
so, six months later the check engine light comes on. i change the plugs and clean the engine bay..... it won't start, clean and dry the plug wires and coil... it starts. cool.
half hour later crusing down the road @ 50mph the enging dies.... no spark... assuming water in distrbutor, i replace the well worn cap+rotor, still no spark...
i have now swapped the cam position sensor with a "believed" good one... and verified that the power stage is receiving 12volts and .11 volts from b11 on the fi ecu... what next???

also the starter has started disengaging before starting the engine occasionaly.. how hard to change and where are the good prices on them?? oh yeah, the interior lights also dont work, although the fuse is good, any leads on this??

Start with the cheap and easy stuff. Remove, check, clean, and then check again your battery cables. from there check your grounds where they meet the block and the chassis. The cluein what youhave saidis the starter hiccups.

by the starter disengaging i meant that it will turn the engine over for a few revolutions then it stops spinning the engine and just the starter spins... when i let off the key and wait for the starter to stop spinning and hit the key again it will turn the engine over a few times again before disengaging... i assumed it was a worn out starter? could it just be a ground issue?

also is there a bench test for the ignition amplifier? its just a transistor right? how about the cam position sensor? i used to do electronics for a living and still have some equiptment..

Sounds like a weak Bendix unit in the starter

weak Bendix unit? thats what i figured.. repair, or replace??
