95 Turbo oil consumption
Hi all
I'm just wondering if the turbo 2.3 engine is known to consume some oil? I've been adding a quart about every two thousand miles, and the guy who I bought from was using straight diesel oil which I stopped since I feel more comfortable using synthetic oil. Is a quart every two thousand normal for these cars? Also, anyone care to enlighten me on how to fix the stuck shift lock? Pretty annoying have to reach over with my left hand to push the override button every time! Thanks!

If the PCV system is original I would replace it regardless; it's due.
Consumption is not bad; owner's manual recommends 10-30w for your climate though you could go to 20-50w where you are in summer; esp if you're inland from the coast. And don't mix different oils; esp different weights.
Most important is to keep an eye on oil level, don't let it get more than a quart low. And change it; dino every 3-5K mls; double that for syn.
