'95 volvo 850, timing belt issues
here's the deal, i backed my 850 turbo down the driveway without starting the motor, when i go to pull it back into the garage, it cranks but won't start. checked air filter, looked good. one of the plugs didn't have spark, so i replaced plugs, wires, cap and rotor. i have spark. i checked the timing while cranking, which i don't know if that is accurate or not, but it was way off the scale, like 60 degrees or something. camshaft sprockets look good, but i can't find the timing mark on the crankshaft sprocket, the mechanic at the dealer said that the mark is on the end of the sprocket, which doesn't make any sense--the serpentine belt pulley would cover the mark. their is however, a notch on the inside of the serp pulley, where the pulley meets the sprocket. this mark lines up with the mark on the oil pump when the cam sprockets are aligned. is this my timing mark?

The crankshaft mark is on the inside of the crank pulley by the timing belt.It is kind of hard to see but there.
See if this site helps you at all.
But you might have bent Valves you won't know till you get the belt on properly.
