Default 96 850 front rotors wont come off

Ok i just picked up an 850 for cheap. only problems are that both front axles are bad and it was leaking break fluid. I found the leak its the front caliper on the drivers side. Im going to replace the caliper front pads and the rotors. I unbloted the caliper no problems. i went to take the rotor off and it wont come off i wacked the hell out of it. The only thing i can see that might hold it up is the nut for the axle. Do i have to take this off or keep wacked it ?

Keep wacking it as long as you have the little 10MM pin/screw out.

OK, did you remove the 10mm wheel locater pin?

If so, I would spray plenty of PB Blaster and keep abusing it with a hammer. You do not need to remove the 36mm hub nut. Some cars come with bolt holes where you can just keep tightening bolts and it breaks the rotor free. Since I no longer have my 850 at hand, I cannot go check it out.

Try hitting the outer edge of the rotor from the inboard side to apply maximum force.

>i whacked the hell out of it
This time try whacking the heaven out of it.....[8D]

+1 for PB Blaster. That stuff is great and has saved my a$$ many times.

Like all have said, remove the pin and use a BFH if you are replacing the rotors anyway. You don't need to remove the axle nut to remove the rotor but you do need to remove the caliper which you indicated that you have already done. They rust together horribly and I use a 5 lb sledge to bust them off on most of the junker cars I buy. They fight with you right up to the point where they just fall off.

Just looking it over again did you remove the caliper bracket by removing the 2 15MM bolts?
