96 850 Turbo - service light
Can someone tell me how to reset the service light on this car? My 94 non-turbo was done under the hood, but I understand this model is different. I have a OBD II tool if I need it for this. Thanks!
Just a little fyi.....I called the local Autozone store, and the guy said the easiest way was to unhook the batt for about 10-15 mins. I did that, and it cleared, but when I shut it off, and turned it back on then, it came back on......so---I don't buy THAT fix.
Well....since this is the son's car...and I am sure when he's done with it it will be salvage yard time...there is ONE other way, I suppose-----remove the darned bulb in the dash. I keep a written log when it's time for oilchanges, etc. anyway.
I dont know how to post a new question so im sorry i replied to yours with a question.

Ok, I found it. This is what it says with my additions...

Open the hood and on the front side of the coolant res, you'll see the OBD-I connectors.

- The one closest to the finder is the one I opened (took the cap off) and seen the plugs.
- I pulled the wire that is stored in the cap, and placed it in the #7 hole.
- Once in the hole, I turned on the ignition, did NOT start the car, just turned it on so all the warning lights were lit.
- Went back to the connector and pushed the little button just forward of the plug 4 times.
- Waited about 5 seconds then the little red light lit up.
- Once the light was steady, I pushed the button once.
- Waited 5 seconds and when it was steady I pushed the button again 5 times.
- Once the light was steady I pushed it 1 more time.
- After that, the little red light flickered several times and went out. That tells you it is reset.
- I turned the car off, re-assembled the OBD-I connector, and that was it.
