Default 96 850 turbo turns but won't fire - P0300 Error Code

So after driving my car a little roughly for 20 minutes because I was late for an important meeting it failed to start 5 minutes later. I have the P0300 code and nothing else.

I replaced the battery 3 or 4 months ago. I started with the plugs and the top of the engine was soaked in oil. I cleaned up the oil and put on a new cap, replaced the plug wires and the plugs.

I attempted to replace the fuel filter but it is stuck because the 12 mm bolt will not come out. I attempted to shimmy it and unplugged both ends. Fuel pours out pretty easily so I figure it is not a filter problem.

I have heard that it may be a fuel pump issue. I've read that I should listen for the pump but when I attempt to turn on the vehicle all I hear is it attempting to start. Has anyone had a similar problem or have an idea of what may be happening? I have also heard that there is a problem fuse that controls the fuel pump that may have gone bad.

I received help from a previous thread that I started but I figured I would start a new one with a title that better describes my problem.

Thank You. I'll give that a try tomorrow. I hope it is as easy as that.

Hey guys, sorry it took me so long to reply. They ended up replacing my camshaft position sensor. Thanks for all your help!
