P0300 and P0301 Code: Check Engine Light on one day but now not seeing it
I was not able start my car 3 days ago. Had to have AAA come out and they jump started my car and then I got the Check Engine light. Battery checked out to be ok by AAA testing. Engine sounded like it was struggling when running for the first few minutes. Usually my car turns on crisply and right away, which is normal. The day before my car was not able to start, I noticed the ignition hesitate for 1 second, then turn on.
Took the car to Pep Boys immediately after and got the code checked which came back with:
P0300 – Random Multiple Misfire Detected
P0301 – Cylinder #1 Misfire Detected
It’s been running without the Check Engine light for 2 days straight and has been starting normal to my knowledge.
Should I still schedule a garage visit because this was a one day thing? I got the Check Engine light threw out the same day it was not able to turn on. Then no Check Engine lights the next 2 days. Any suggestions to troubleshoot and look at?
I’ve read about doing a compression test, checking spark plugs, wires, fuel injector, etc. I do not have the equipment for these procedureshttp://www.obd-codes.com/p0301
Also, been getting the Service Engine light the past 3 weeks. Doesn’t this come on every so miles for a routine checkup? I just bought the car 3 month’s ago and had it inspected and serviced by a garage that specializes in Volvo’s.
