Default 96 Volvo 850 w/ Swap

hello, i am currently looking into getting a used Volvo 850. I was recently in an accident that totalled my 95 Volvo 850 but luckly I was okay. My funds are tight and a private seller is selling a 1996 850GLT with 219000 miles on the car, and "80,000" on the engine and tranny so he claims. The car looks clean and drives great. He's asking 2,995 i really don't know if I should trust this guy. It seems like a great deal but Some things are too good to be true and i really dont feel like being screwed. My old 95 is still sitting in my yard and if i purchase this car i figure I could use parts from the old one if anything happens. What do you guys think? I really don't know what to do.

He also just got an inspection, and replaced the MAF Sensor i'm pretty sure. The tires are new. It seems like its maintained.

I would say go for it unless you can find another one close to you.
My wifes white one in my sig pic now has 220,000 on it and runs like new.

so your telling me i should buy this thing even tho I really dont have any clue how many miles are really on the engine? The guy who is selling it didnt put the engine in he got the car that way, i am pretty sure he goes to auctions and just sells cars out of his house. I have no way to verify how many miles are on the tranny or engine.

If it looks like it was taken care of I would say yes.
If they are taken car of they can last over 300,000 to 400,000 miles easy.

I too would say go for it if it has been well taken care of. As you said, you can always use parts from your old 95 to put on the 94. Or you can part out the 95 and get some of your money back. Go with your gut feeling though
