the cable slips off the gear. you have to disassemble the antenna and put the cable back on the gear

yes I knew that Robert about the video and am experimenting while I wait for the new mast. Thank you. are you getting any of this storm down there its not bad here but others are getting bad ice taking out power lines and others dumped on with alot of snow hopefully the toll wont be too bad and everyone will be ok
Try www.AntennaMastsRus.com. You can buy just the aerial mast and nylon gear "rope" for under $20. Quality product. Takes only an hour or two to replace, using their instructions. Don't have to be a genius repair person to do it. Pays to have a vice (use cardboard inside the jaws to protect the old aerial) if the old mast is stuck in the motor housing tube (mht). Cut off the aerial mast about 6"above the mht. Slide a close-fitting drill bit inside the mast. Tighten the jaws of the vice around that. Pull the mht up sharply and the aerial and retainer will pop out of the housing.
Found this to be more effective than the instructions in AntsRUs instructions. Otherwise their instructions are good.
A bit of conductive (carbon) grease also works well between the new aerial mast and the housing to give good electrical contact.

I didn't send that i been busy bought a snow blower today well another one its a 24in. craftsman electric start had a few minor issues to fix but its pretty much like new and the price was right. So no work on the car today.
It might have worked but it broke when I was trying to get it to start back into the the spool it broke in another spot farther up. Ooh well if you never try you can never fail. but I was able to make the wait seem less by playing with that til the new one got here.
