The handle portion broke off of the door but not the lock that it slides into. I bought a handle and lock from a junkyard and need to take the handle off of the lock part of the assembly to put it on the lock that is still on the door. I don't have the key for the one I just bought so I can't take out the lock cylinder and replace it with the one I have. Can I take the handle off and put it on the lock I have a key for? If so I can't figure out how to do it.

 

I tried for about an hour and could not figure it out. Must be some special tool or procedure to get it done.
