Intermittent light when I first got the car, now it is on all the time, brakes work fine, but, I'm going through inspection soon, and know I have to resolve it, any ideas

 

probably the abs module has failed, you can get one on ebay.

or just unplug the light, the abs does more bad than good IMHO.

Use the above link. I had him refurbish mine four months ago and no problems. If you look around the web and Matts Volvo site you'll find some do it yourself instructions, but I think Vitor offers a good service with good value. You'll need an E5 tork socket to get to unit out. You can still drive the car while it's out, just no ABS, which you might not have anyway right now.

I'd get the code pulled to isolate it. I had an intermittant ABS light and it was just a bad solder on a brake pedal position sensor. I imagine there's a few things that could be doing it

 

thanks for all the feedback, I had the codes checked once, when a bad spark plug wire threw a code, but, the abs did not come up at that time, do I have the same test performed to check the code from the ABS module?
