Default ABS and SRS lights not testing on start-up

My 96 850R estate does not show the ABS or SRS lights when the ignition is turned on. "Tracs off" light is also always on as the switch won't turn it off(or rather turn the tracs system on).
All the other lights test as normal and then go out when the car is started. I currently have the dash out and have changed the bulbs for ones that are shown to be working when in one of the other warning light positions.
Can this be caused by faulty modules in both cases or do I need to start checking wiring?
I obviously did a number of searches for posts that may address this problem but they all seem to discuss the lights being on rather than off.

Thanks

Steve.

Hi Steve

Have you got an OBD2 reader? (am pretty sure you wont have the OBD1 ports under the bonnet as you're '96) There should be some codes stored in the computer.

If you dont, have you tried easy things like cleaning the contacts on the ABS module or the back of the TRACS switch?

To be honest, I am not sure why there are no lights comming up, but getting the codes from the computer is probably the best option - you can buy readers fairly cheap on TradeMe, otherwise a good Auto Electrician would probably have one.

Hopefully you dont need a WOF next week?

Cheers
