ADDING headlight wipers
hi guys my 850 didn't come factory with headlight wipers, I really like the look of the headlight wipers idk why thats just me i guess, are they easy to install? are there connections ready for the wiper motors? i saw a random plug that is connected to nothing once when i removed my headlight.. they dont have to work i'd like to have them there just for looks but having them work would be nice too... thanks
Is pot legal in CA, I think I heard that sometime recently.
Anyway, find some other way to spice up the front. The one on the passenger side is a grizzly bear to install/remove.
Get some of these (eyebrows):

Or these (angel eyes):

Mine come with wipers and were removed (before i bought it) but I care not to put them back on....and I like the angels eyes hmm after I finish the trim maybe my next project. rspi any suggestions on where to look for them?
Not really. They are all over the web. Wish I could afford a set.
The thing I like about this is that they have options on how you can hook them up. Connect the rings, connect the dots, several options.

Installing them 'just for looks'? That seems kinda strange...
My passenger side gearbox is stripped. I have a replacement motor/gearbox, but haven't taken the time to install it yet. Looks a little time intensive, based on what I've read. The part was $14 used, but everything I've read says the install is a 3-4 hour job, where the drivers side is only 30 minutes.
So, of course, the passenger side is the one that failed

I don't like the angel eyes, but I'm not sure on the eyebrows.
Considering what they cost, I think I'll pick up a set before I have my bumper cover and spoiler painted, and have them done at the same time. Can't take much more paint...

yeah, for some reason I've really liked the look of headlight washers on euro cars, gives them a unique look in my eyes... I'm not really a fan of the projector/angel eyes headlights... and its a maybe on the eyebrows, I'm trying to make my car look like this pretty much...
minus the sticker. I've got a long way to go lol, I'm taking baby steps (broke college student who loves cars)

Plenty of slow evolution
I'm a broke adult who loves cars. It's all good
My kids keep asking me when I'm going to 'give Grandpa back his car' - my Dad sold my R to me earlier this year.
The wiper motor on the left side (driver) is pretty easy to fit, the second one however is a "pig". Volvo somehow build the 850 around this motor
You need to take out the ECU Box, losen up the cable harness which runs from the box and then you are ready to fit the motor. Headlight and bonnet lock should also be taken out but these are a walk in the park.
Take care when fitting the bonnet lock back that it's not mounted to low as this will shatter your turn lights when you close the bonett.
Electrics are normally present.
Another word of advice: try the wiper motors BEFORE you fit them they are known to break (the contacts inside wear off). The result is a wiper arm which stops somewhere in the middle of the headlight or even completely dead ones.
