Default Advice...

So for those that know I swapped heads from one late 93 model year, to an early 93 model year. The car runs great...No Idiot lights starts and runs like a champ ...just can't wait to get it on the road. A few little issues, one small coolant leak at the rear of the head where the little U pipe goes into the head, and the other issue is the Head has some kind of ventilation ports out of the top which my early 93 did not have. I tested them for vacuum and there is no vac leak, and no pressure on them...they are at the spark plug wires...should I block them or leave them be? Should be road ready tomorrow, and I will be getting the seats recovered with leather from the back seat of my salvage car...soon...

Thanks...
Jim

All of the heads on my cars have that mystery port. I have no idea what it is for so I just ignore it.

If nothing is coming out of the port don't worry about it.

For the leak did you use a new gasket?

Not that I would recommend using it all the time, but I have had good luck using Bar's Stop Leak for small annoying coolant leaks in a pinch

Thanks guys...I think I'll JB weld the ports shut since the original head did not have it. The coolant leak...nope no new gasket maybe I'll make one...I have some gasket materal and some permatex high temp silicone...which should seal it up good as new...Hopefully this puppy is on the road tomorrow...
