Default 'After blower' a/c system questions

I remember reading somewhere that to combat the condensation from corroding the a/c core, volvo brought out an 'after blower' mod.
It ran the blower fan for a period of time after the car was turned off to dry off the core.

Don't spose anyone has more or detailed info on this ?

Taaaaa

That is true but there is a wiring kit that needs to be installed to make it all work.

I am capable of making my own looms/conections etc.
So what I'm after is just what it did and when.
More the theory of operation if you will.

I'm thinking of putting in a timer that runs the blower for x minutes after the car is turned of if the a/c has been used.

It is set up to come on within 50 minutes of the car being turned off and it runs between 5 to 10 minutes then turns back off.

Excellent. many thanks.

Don't spose you have any other info on it.
Just trying to understand the reason behind the time frames.

I can reason that it waits before turning on because it will take a bit before maximum condensation occurs.
And this would be related to temp/use/humidity.
And obviously takes anything up to 10 minutes to dry the core.
