Default Aftermarket Fog Lights

So I'd like to add extra lighting since I find the stock lights are a little dim. Anyways, I've read plenty about the Volvo brand fog lights, along with the relays/switch needed and so on.

What I was wondering is has anyone had any success with aftermarket kits and a straight battery hook-up. I think I may have read that doing this could fry the whole electrical system. Is this true?

Thanks

I would not Jerry rig them. Install some the right way since everything is pre-wired. You can get everything you need from a salvage yard for next to nothing. Then get the lights you want and rig a bracket for them.

Gosh I would hope not. The way I was thinking to do it would be like replacing a bulb with a florecent one.

Silly question time...lol

I have an S80 and holes are pre drilled. and inside there is a spot for a button. Where and what kind of fog lights should I install and yes I do me, myself, and I...lol

I am probably the only female on here that is willing to get down and dirty and fix her own Volvo istead of all the creeps around here. In fact, I am the only person in my town that drives a Volvo. haha. And I am very proud too.

On the subject of fog lights. Here is a very funny story that happened to me. My ex-husband was looking at my back lights and said hey you got a blown fog light bulb. Okay no biggy. I go to get a bulb and the guy at the register said here let me install this for you. Yes, there is a socket on the back right taillight for the bulb but no hole drilled. The guy said uh I think they forgot to drill the role on the right side for the other fog light. I go home and read my manual front to back and back to front and looked on VAIDS and come to find out only one rear fog light was put on the car. I felt like a real winner at the time, with a big L on my forehead. This was strange to me considering my 1987 760 turbo had 2 rear fog lights...
