i want to install an aftermarket tach in my 93 glt, because my stock tach does not work (goes in and out of working). its a stick and its annoying to not have a tach sometimes, plus an aftermarket tach looks cool :P are there any special adapters i need? or cam it just be wired straight in?

I am not into mods so you may want to wait until Moderator S70driver, Tech or other modders kick in.

I believe it would not be so difficult to hook one up, and often aftermarket gadgets come with installation instructions. Even if you do need do some fabricating such as splicing electrical wires, it should be within the capability of DIYers.

your biggest problem will be finding one that has a 5 cyl input.
only ones I have seen are 4/6/8 cyl.
