I've noticed recently that when I start off on a cold start in first gear the alternator light comes on briefly, then goes out. This happens mostly after rain and the car has been parked overnight. It goes out as the rpm's increase, then when I shift to second when rpm's drop comes on again, then goes out as rpms increase. After a few starts and shifts the light stays off. This must have something to do with moisture, but not sure what (though it did it yesterday morning after a dry night). I don't hear the belt slipping. Any ideas?

My guess would be that the altanator is going out. Do you have any codes in the ecm ?
