Exclamation Am I missing a hose??? (With pic)

I was looking under the hood of my volvo 850 turbo wagon and I noticed something that I dont think is normal. I think there should be 3 hoses plugged there, but there are only 2 and I supose there should be third one at the bottom. Can somebody tell me, please?

That's your vacuum tree. A lot of 850's have one or two unused ports there, but they shouldn't be left open like that, they should be plugged. I don't know what year your wagon is, but my 94 850 turbo doesn't have any unused ports, I think it's the later years (96/97) that have an unused port. Mostly because the early 850's doesn't have a nipple on the intake manifold for the PTC vacuum line to plug into, but the later years do.

Mine is a 94. Do you suggest to plug it with something?

I would check all your vac lines in the area and make sure they're all going somewhere, especially the one going from your PTC over to your PCV system, that's the one that is supposed to supposed to plug into the intake nipple, but your intake manifold probably won't have a nipple on it, if that's the case and it's not plugged into anything, then plug it into the vac tree.

Get some vacuum line and plug it with something. I lost the plug to mine so I got some line and plugged it with an Airsoft BB and it hasn't fallen out yet.

Not really. It will not affect it to much.

Of the three smaller vacuum lines on the tree there are two (top two on mine) that go to a switch or relay mounted on the radiator shrowd and the bottom one goes to a check valve and tee which you can find below the freash air intake to the air cleaner box. If you poke your hand down around in that general area you'l probably find your missing line.

Yeah, it is. But I noticed a big difference on my idle tone.

I noticed when I unplugged mine that the idle seemed like a heart skipping every 4th or 5th beat if you guys can imagine what I am saying.

Also, autozone sells the actual plugs you are supposed to use for like $2
